Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.5 Internet Explorer 4.5 Macintosh Edition is the latest version of the popular Web browser for the Mac today. There are plenty of hot new features in this new release, including:

AutoSearch now lets you choose your search engine and display search results in different ways. For example, you can choose to be redirected automatically to the best-matched site. In the history box, you can now sort the list of sites by date, site, most visited, or order visited. The new AutoComplete feature displays a drop-down list of matching sites when you start to type a URL in the address bar. AutoComplete also works with Web forms, displaying a list of previous entries when you start to type in a field on a Web site. To automate login processes even further, you can also now save usernames and passwords for particular sites. Visit Netscape's Web site is at http://www.netscape.com Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 The newly released Acrobat Reader 4.0 is the essential tool for reading documentation that is supplied as pdf files. With more products being distributed electronically, paper documents are becoming a thing of the past. Using Acrobat allows you to read electronic documents that look just like the printed thing. Find out more at Adobe's web site: http://www.adobe.com Apple Quicktime 4.0 Quicktime 4.0 is the best video playback technology available, and version 4 is so chock full of features there just ain't space to list them. Suffice to say it's an absolute essential for viewing sound and video content on your computer and from the Web. This is the stub installer, which will connect to the QuickTime site to complete the installation. (We working on getting a full, disc based installer). Use your right mouse button to add files to add files to an archive, or double click on a zipped file to extract it's files. WinZip 7.0 is the latest version - this is an evaluation version, so if you find it useful, make sure you buy the full version at http://www.winzip.com FTP Voyager 6.1 FTP Voyager is an FTP client program that allows you to perform FTP operations in the same way that you would normally perform file operations, making remote sites as easy to navigate and transfer files as your local hard drive. FTP Voyager looks and feels like Windows Explorer. In fact, you can even drag and drop files from the FTP site to your hard drive, and vice versa. This latests version includes improvements to the interface, and adds server to server direct transfer, and a increase in the number of useful deafult FTP sites. There are good search and replace features, line numbering, file comparison, word count - everything you need, in a fast and compact utility, which is why we think it's an essential. This is a shareware product. More information from Helios, including multilingual dictionaries, and other add-ons: ( http://www.textpad.com) Cygnus Fractal eXtreme Easy to use, and producing great results, Fractal eXtreme is just about the best Fractal image creation tool out there. One of the best features is the ability to keep zooming in, and if you register, you will be able to create Fractal Zoom Movies - mesmerising journeys into other dimensions. While we make efforts to decompress all the Mac demos on the disc, we will generally also put the compressed file on the disc as well, in case you'd rather extract the files to your hard disk instead. Stuffit Expander is shareware - so if you use it, register it. Aladdin online at: http://www.aladdinsys.com Aladdin Dropstuff Drag and drop your files onto the DropStuff icon to compress them. A vitally useful utility from Aladdin - make it an alias on your desktop so it's always ready. Dropstuff is shareware - so if you use it, register it. Aladdin online at: http://www.aladdinsys.com Fetch 3.03 This is the latest version of Dartmouth Systems' evergreen FTP Client, Fetch. An indispensable tool and faithful companion, Fetch lets you upload and download files across machines.This version also allows you to set permissions (such as UNIX CHMOD commands), largely eliminating the need for a separate Telnet client. GraphicConverter 3.7.1 We finally got round to updating this useful app. The basic function of GraphicConverter is pretty self-explanatory - it converts graphics from one file format to another. Thorsten Lemke has created a program that can import just about every bitmap graphic file format ever invented, and export as quite a few too. You can also use it to convert a whole folder of images from one format to another - quick and easy. GraphicConverter is shareware - details of registration are included in the installed files. BareBones BBedit Lite 4.6 From BareBones comes the latest freeware version of their superb text editor BBEdit. This is fully functional, but doesn't have the same range of functions and extensions as the full version. But with line numbering, hidden character highlighting, syntax colour coding, great find and replace tools, word counts, and the ability to save out as Unix, Dos or Mac text, BBEdit is one mighty useful program. We also have the latest demo version of the full product, BBEdit 5.1.1, and the latest updater to BBEdit 5.1.1. for registered users with earlier versions. Simple to use and effective, you really don't need anything else. Ilesa Download Deputy 3.1 Download Deputy lets you create lists of files to download from the Web, so you don't have to sit around while your computer chugs away. You can also download HTML files.
